Penelope's Pitstop was delighted to be cooking at the Hastings Seafood and Wine Festival which saw a record turnout of attendees. We were proud to be representing the newly launched Hastings Fish brand and our locally sourced grey mullet in an Ecuadorian coconut sauce stuffed into one of our arepas proved popular. We showcased our special seafood festival menu which included authentic Peruvian style ceviche with popcorn, octopus escabeche typical of the Colombian Pacific coast and a Prawn coconut coctel from the Caribbean coast of Colombia. For vegans we had our usual vegan arepa and a special of mango ceviche from Ecuador. Our jalapeno watermelon lemonade was as popular as ever, and our pineapple hot sauce was a sell out. The highlight of the weekend was that fabulous selfie with councillor James Bacon. We will be back at the Stade for the Herring Fair in November, so if you are still an arepa virgin come find us!
