Penelope's Pitstop, the BBQ Project and Heritage Breed Meats launched their first street food collaboration PAVE on the chess square to coincide with Hastings Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras celebrations. Despite the return to the cold weather we were out on the 1st, 2nd and 5th March serving hot tasty street food made with locally sourced ingredients to the Carnival faithful. PAVE will be an ongoing feature in the chess square on George St in the Old, starting this year with 20 scheduled days throughout the 2019 season, it will hopefully be the beginning of a fantastic new go to street food destination in the heart of the Old Town. PAVE partners are: the BBQ Project are well known in Hastings for their slow BBQ cooked meats and dirty loaded fries. Heritage Breed meats are the new kids on the block, breeders of heritage pigs, they make their own German style dogs and serve them up in tasty brioche dog buns. And of course, Penelope's Pitstop serving up South American street food with a British land girl vibe. The next PAVE event with St Patrick's Day, where we will be lining the stomachs of the Guinness drinking hordes. See you on the square?
